Janice M. Maiman, Senior Vice President, Communications and Media Channels, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)

Janice Maiman has spent nearly 25 years at AICPA, overseeing an award-winning integrated communications team. She directs the Institute’s brand management; executive communications; media relations; strategic, member, state society and internal communications; the multimedia and social media functions; AICPA.org; creative services; and the AICPA’s financial literacy program. 

Maiman was the architect of the award-winning nationwide 360 Degrees of Financial Literacy and Feed the Pig programs, designed and executed the grassroots communications program called CPA Ambassadors, and directs the image enhancement campaign and advertising program. Under her watch, the Young CPA Network program was developed and launched. Maiman also oversees the implementation of communications strategy for the National CPA Financial Literacy Commission. She was also the communications lead on the pivotal CPA Vision project.

Under Maiman's leadership, the communications team has received more than 130 awards for its efforts. Nearly every aspect of the team’s work, from the AICPA Annual Report to the internal communications newsletters has been honored with an award. Honors include: Best Communications Team 2009 and 2011 from the American Business Awards; two Summit Awards from the American Society of Association Executives; two Platinum Spotlight Award and Top 100 Communications Materials honors from the Leagues of American Communications Professionals; a PR News Platinum PR Award; a ASAE Gold Circle Award; Silver and Bronze Telly Awards; a Gold Quill from the International Association of Business Communicators; and numerous Hermes and MarCom Platinum Awards. —Scott Van Camp
