Kathy Bloomgarden, CEO, Ruder Finn
Kathy leads one of the top global independent communications agencies in the world, all while constantly innovating to stay ahead of an increasingly fast-moving business and communications environment. Just this past year, she recognized the need for agency strength in managing change as clients transformed their business models. Ruder Finn moved to build up expertise in business and portfolio transformation, healthcare innovations and employee engagement. Her focus on transforming the agency and client’s business has led to year-over-year double-digit growth.
A China Institute board member, Kathy spearheaded the compnay’s focus on communications in China, now one of the industry’s most important regions. Under her leadership, Ruder Finn opened one of the first global communications offices in China over 25 years ago. She is a thought leader around the role of communications for CEOs and wrote the book “Trust,” which details how CEOs build trust through communications with stakeholders inside and outside of the company. She is a board member for the foundation for the National Institutes for Health, leading efforts to leverage emerging technologies and their potential for better healthcare solutions.
