The PR NEWS Nail Biter Award

The National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) causes sleepless nights for Ann Marie Gothard, vice president and public relations director for Chisolm-Mingo Plus in New York.

For her most candid answer to our Nail Biter question, "What news organization makes you the most nervous when you're managing a crisis?", Gothard wins 50 percent off registration to PR NEWS Advanced Crisis Management & Media Relations Workshop in San Francisco, Sept. 14-15.

The NNPA represents 300 black-owned publications throughout the United States has the power to create a national forum with tremendous local impact when it comes to racial discrimination issues, Gothard says. The association is a clearinghouse for African American leaders including Jesse Jackson, Hugh Price and Kweisi Mfume. "...collectively they have the ability to dramatically impact a client's bottom line and heighten the need for crisis managers," Gothard says.

Thanks to everyone who entered the Nail Biter contest and we hope to see you in San Francisco. For more information about the workshop, call 888/ 707-5814.
