SEO LINKING STRATEGIES

• Use Google Webmaster Tools, which gives reports on internal and external links/traffic.

• Structure and label links within in your site’s navigation to improve SEO results.

• If your site has the words “click here” instead of a hyperlinked description of the content you are linking to, you are missing out on SEO potential.

• Include key phrases used by searchers within the anchor text of a hyperlink to point to relevant content.

• Increase backlinking and inbound links.

• Use Google PageRank and Yahoo WebRank to evaluate links.

• If possible, get backlinks from major online publications.

• Link to your most important pages from your home page.

External Links:

• Get in-bound links from sites that are related to your content.

• Use Yahoo Site Explorer to find links from competitors or intermediaries

• Submit your URL to third-party domains.

• “Seed” your content in online community forums.
