Say What?

Listen up pardners. Reporters receiving press releases that have nothing to
do with their beats is so commonplace, we're ready to rassle up a posse. The
latest offense: A release titled, "News from the Houston Livestock Show and
Rodeo," was sent to the editor of engineering magazine Communication Technology.

We believe it's time for the show's PR team to invest in a little data mining.
Communication Technology talks about video server software and upstream
modulators, not cattle or the record-breaking onslaught of those attending the
championship B-B-Q.

On a positive note, the release did enlighten us. Who knew that winning the
calf-roping competition would garner you $29,491.40 and a new truck? Perhaps
we should saddle up.
