Say What?

The world is not with us, media hounds. The PR community may be scrambling to get with the Web program, but the proverbial "Average American" continues to complacently chew her cud in front of the boob
tube. We couldn't help but snigger at this poignant dose of demographic perspective:

A contestant on the Dec. 21 episode of ABC's horrifyingly popular "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" quiz show was unable to identify the online zine published by Microsoft (out of a possible four
choices). So she polled the studio audience, thinking they'd have a clue. Roughly 80% picked Wired.

Final answer? Wrong. (For the uninitiated, the correct answer was Slate, founded by political wonk Michael Kinsley.)
