Say What?

Someone sent us a human heart this week. Well, not a real one, but a realistic-looking one made out of foam rubber.(It arrived while staffers were midway through their
peanut butter sandwiches, most left unfinished.) The promotion, for an exhibit titled "The World Within Us," is hosted by the Louisville Science Center in Louisville, Ky.
Question: if you're promoting something that's biology-related, do you have to send a knick-knack that's so, well, gross? This rather resembled a stress ball which gave
curious reporters the urge to squeeze it. Ewww. Most tchotchkes are useless enough but when they are useless and nauseating, then maybe your PR strategy needs a change of heart...
