Catherine A. Bolton, executive director and COO of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), announced that she will not renew her contract when it expires at the
end of 2006. Bolton, who has held the top staff position at the Society since 1999, made the announcement on December 5 during the 2005 PRSA Assembly in Chicago. In a press
statement following the announcement, the PRSA praised Bolton's contributions to the Society, citing "enhancements in overall operations, finance, marketing relationships, human
resources and public relations."
Judith H. Phair, president and CEO of PRSA, added that a search committee for a new executive director and COO will be created in the near future.
