PR Pulse

According to a report from Reuters, the Iranian newspaper Hamshahri issued a global call for entries in a competition for cartoons that made fun of the Jewish

victims of the Holocaust. Following the news of that report, Joel Leyden, the publisher of the Israel News Agency, issued his own call: To search engine marketing and PR

professionals to optimize Web pages with the keywords "Iran Holocaust Cartoon Contest" in order to prevent the Iranian news sites from securing prime Google and Google News

positions, thus squashing its Net-based PR reach. In explaining this PR push, Leyden said to the Israeli media: "There is no way that Iran will spit on the graves of over six

million Jews who perished in the Holocaust."As of this writing, there is no official feedback on how many people responded to either the Hamshahri competition or Leyden's

campaign.
