  • Spin magazine names Adrienne D'Amato public relations director.
  • SoftAware Networks adds Barry Sulpor to its management team as marketing communications director. He joins SoftAware from Xerox Corp., where he served as marcom manager.
  • Tasty Baking Co. names Kathleen Grim director, corporate communications. She joined the Philadelphia-based company in 1976 as a sales rep.
  • Monica Glass Thornton is hired as director of community and press relations for CBS Atlanta/WGNX television, owned by Meredith Corp. Thornton was formerly director of public relations at
    United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta.
  • The Fund for Peace appoints Anne Bader VP, development and communications.
  • Lisa Carparelli, manager of public relations for The New York Times Co., has been promoted to director of communications for New York Times Digital, the company's Internet division.
  • Interim Services Inc., a human resources management company, names Liza Fiore Palermo as the company's VP of corporate communications.
  • The Limited Inc. appoints Pamela Stein Seidman as director of public relations and communications for Express. She will lead the fashion public relations and special events team.
  • Move.com, a subsidiary of Cendant Corp., names Ted Deutsch director of corporate communications. Move.com is a relocation, real estate and home-related services portal.
  • Ramada Franchise Systems names Gwendolyn Wright public relations manager. She replaces Doug Anderson, who is promoted to director of marketing and communications for Ramada.
  • Mark Nelson joins Rainmaker Interactive, an Internet services company, as executive VP of the company's marketing and public relations practice.
  • Caravelle Wine Selections appoints Lorraine Raguseo as its first director of communications.

Agency Moves

  • MWW/Savitt appoints Tom Calcagni and Tricia Chan senior VPs. Calcagni will head the firm's b-to-b communications team and Chan will direct the new economy leadership team.
  • The Goltz Seering Agency Inc., a firm serving national consumer packaged goods and services industries, names Laural Virtues Wauters president. She has been with the agency for eight years.
  • ACG Communications promotes Pennie Wilfong to president. Chairman and CEO Mike Martorella made the appointment so he can focus more on the agency's global communications network.
  • Lages & Associates, a high-tech firm in Irvine, Calif., hires Kerry Schneider as senior communications strategist. The firm also promotes Paula Brici to the newly created position of VP of
    client services.
  • Glenn Wiener joins the New York office of PR 21 as VP, investor relations.
  • Goddard Claussen Porter Novelli names Gene Wise senior VP. He will serve as creative strategist and writer/director in the firm's Malibu office.
