    Tierney Communications in Philadelphia, where she was associate VP of consumer public relations.
  • Helaine Klasky becomes director of public affairs and special assistant to the president at Yale University. She previously held senior public affairs positions with the U.S.
    Department of the Treasury, the U.S. State Department and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
  • FamilyPC magazine names Rachel Weiss promotion manager. Weiss will be responsible for developing customized sponsorship and strategic partnership programs.

Association Moves

  • Edward Lundquist joins the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association in Arlington, Va. as VP, Communications. He is responsible for NRECA's weekly newspaper,
    Electric Co-op Today and Rural Electric, a monthly magazine.
  • The Health Insurance Association of America names Henry Desmarais SVP for policy and information. He formerly served as director of the health policy and advocacy department
    with the American College of Surgeons and was a principal with Health Policy Alternatives Inc.

  • Burson-Marsteller names John Gibbons market leader of the DC healthcare practice. He will manage a practice of 20 PR execs and focus on new business development. Formerly,
    he worked as Assistant Secretary and Press Secretary at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the U.S. Department of Commerce in
    the Bush administration and on the 2001 Presidential Inauguration Committee.
  • Jorge Ortega becomes managing director of B-M Florida. He will continue as managing partner of FastForward, B-M's management consulting group which he founded.
  • Kent Jenkins returns to the DC B-M media practice as managing director. He returns from Cisco System's DC office, where he was responsible for media relations in the public
    policy and political areas.
  • BSMG Worldwide appoints Paul Belcher to divisional director, Healthcare Europe. Katrin Gessner-Ulrich becomes managing director of healthcare in its German operation, where
    she will collaborate with Sabine Kuhnert, also a managing director.

    healthcare clients. He comes to FKH from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

    e-commerce solutions vendor.

    Electronics North America.
