H&K's Berard to Fleishman
John Berard, executive managing director and head of the advanced
technology unit at Hill and Knowlton's New York office, is joining
Fleishman-Hillard as general manager of the firm's San Francisco
office. A ten-year H&K veteran, Berard was a senior vice president at
Gray and Co. , the Washington, D.C. public affairs and lobbying firm
acquired by Hill and Knowlton in 1986.

Woods Replaces Rose at P/N/Chicago
Valerie Woods has joined Porter/Novelli (P/N) as general manager
of the Chicago office, replacing Merrill Rose, who is on a four-month
sabattical in France. She will return to P/N in an as-yet-
undetermined international position, according to a P/N spokesperson
Woods was executive vice president and co-general manager of the
