Media conglomerate Viacom Inc. announced recently that it's
expanding its presence in China's tightly controlled television
market, with a new agreement allowing it to broadcast its MTV
channel into the southern province of Guangdong. William Roedy,
president of MTV Networks International, said 1 million households
served by Guangdong Cable Television will initially be able to view
the Chinese MTV channel.
