Media Metrics

The Delahaye Index is a quarterly assessment of how news affects the corporate reputation of the 100 largest companies in the U.S. Each company's score is based on how many
positive and negative reputation-driving attributes are found within each story. These attributes are classified into five separate charts concerning stakeholder relations,
financial management, products and services, organizational integrity and organizational strength.

Despite taking a drubbing in the press recently about its community relations efforts Wal-Mart tops the latest, overall reputation index, with Microsoft coming in second and
Verizon third. It's also a bit of surprise that Walt Disney -- which for months has had to deal with investor upheaval and some nasty press accounts about CEO Michael Eisner --
placed second in organizational integrity. For a while there, it seemed as if Disney could do no right. But it turns out that Disney isn't so dysfunctional after all. The house
that Mickey built got high marks for its response to Comcast's takeover bid, in terms of transparency and corporate governance.
