Washington, D.C., of course, is a company town (politics), as is Los Angeles (movies). In a similar vein, Florida wins hands down as the Amusement Park Capital of the World
(although the other two venues certainly provide high entertainment value).
This week's indexed results -- the highest concentration of people attending theme parks in a 12-month period -- show that seven of the Top 10 markets for theme parks are in
the Sunshine State.
With summer shifting into high gear, we thought it would be useful, per Delahaye, to provide a bit of a scratch sheet for the most popular destinations for amusement-
park enthusiasts.
Orlando, home to the mother of (or maybe son of, if you put the original Disneyland in context) all amusement parks, Walt Disney World, takes the top slot, with
St. Petersburg to show and Melbourne to place.
Along with several other locales in Florida, Los Angeles (Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios), San Diego (The San Diego Zoo) and Virginia Beach
(Busch Gardens) flesh out the rest of the list for PR ties to theme parks. PRN
