JOURNALISTS GOING ONLINE MORE FOR INFORMATION

Over a third of 600 newspaper and magazine editors reported that staff members go online every day, according to a "Media in Cyberspace" survey released Feb. 19 by the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and Don Middleburg, CEO of New York-based PR house Middleburg & Associates. PR practitioners should pay special attention to this finding because t means that more and more journalists are using the Internet for fact and data gathering. The finding, based on queries during 1996, was a jump from the 23 percent response last year and the 16 percent response two years ago. (Middleburg, 212/888-6610)
