UPI, whose bureaus and legions of thousands once speckled the globe in omnipresent fashion, has cut its workforce over the years.
It now has about 250 employees and 500 stringers at key locations in Beijing, Tokyo, London, Seoul, Washington, D.C., Chicago, New York, Dallas and Miami.
