Karen Hampton, Vice President of Communications, Ford Asia Pacific

Karen has been at Ford for more than 20 years, overseeing former Ford CEO Alan Mulally’s day-to-day communication strategy, and for the past four years, leading and transforming Ford Asia Pacific’s communications operation into a more nimble, world-class storytelling machine. She restructured the regional communications team and established a Shanghai-based content factory that produces compelling, shareable digital content for more than 15 Asian markets. She leads and coaches a team of 60 Ford colleagues and an additional 100 agency staff throughout Asia.

Karen led the development and execution of Ford’s activation at one of the most important auto shows in the world. In April, 2015, Ford held Ford and Lincoln press conferences, revealing an unprecedented seven new vehicles. Three new Lincoln vehicles were revealed as part of bringing five new Lincoln vehicles to China by 2016. Lincoln Weibo and WeChat accounts created large social buzz, reaching 350,000 impressions among 75,000 total users across key social channels. Weibo news posts attracted over 85,000 impressions and over 1,800 interactions over just a few hours after our press conference. The campaign hashtag received over 253,000 impressions and over 2,000 comments.
