2015 PR People Awards: Publicist of the Year

Winner: Anna Treiber, Henson Consulting, Inc., Director of Hospitality

As Henson Consulting’s first employee more than 8 years ago, Anna Treiber steadily moved up the ranks from intern to Director of Hospitality. Treiber, who has seen the agency grow from two to forty employees and from its humble beginnings in the CEO’s basement to a sleek office in Chicago’s Loop, was promoted from Account Manager to Director of Hospitality in 2015.

As one of the firm’s senior managers, she now oversees 12 colleagues, 15 clients and ongoing internal business functions at the rapidly growing agency. Treiber has earned her new role along with the respect of some of Chicago’s most elite restaurateurs, food media and fellow colleagues. Her experience ranges from brand refreshes to brand launches and everything in between.

One example of her work involved a team of new restaurateurs following their passion and setting out to introduce a unique concept, Bohemian House, to Chicago’s thriving culinary scene. With no previous industry experience or reputation to precede them, Treiber and her team were challenged with the task of generating opening buzz for the new concept and introducing Central European-inspired fare to the public. Treiber coordinated an exclusive video release and feature with Zagat, putting the restaurant on the culinary map even before its opening. She led her team to continue the buzz with strategically planned opening stories, and a friends and family preview party.

Ultimately, HC secured more than 29 million media impressions surrounding the opening of Bohemian House, with placements in top-tier outlets including Chicago Magazine, Chicago Tribune, Crain’s Chicago Business, Plate Magazine, RedEye, UrbanDaddy Chicago, WGN-TV and Zagat Chicago, to name a few.
