Susanna Hughes, Director, London Office, Allison+Partners
Susanna Hughes opened the London office of Allison+Partners—the company’s first international location— as a director in 2011. Before arriving in London, Hughes worked for Allison+Partners in San Francisco, and in 2010 left to travel the world for the majority of that year. In San Francisco, Hughes was a star account servicer, managing several accounts on her own. Allison+Partners CEO Scott Allison had full faith in her ability to start the company’s first international office from scratch.
Hughes arrived in London alone with a small amount of business from the US to support billable hours. She had a limited number of contacts and no office space but she didn’t let any of that hold her back. From September 2012 to September 2013, the London office grew from two to five people and revenue increased by 162% in the same timeframe under Hughes’ management. She has also spoken publicly about startup PR for Techstars and Dreamstake and was asked to be a judge for the Europa Awards.
