The New York Press, an alternative newsweekly, is about to
launch a new free sports weekly with an initial circulation of
around 60,000. It will be called The New York Sports Express...The
star system is dimming at CNN. The cable channel is canceling
"Connie Chung Tonight." Could be the first of many changes by a new
editorial regime at CNN. Earlier this month the cable network
cancelled daytime yak show "Talk Back Live"... Jim Nelson,
executive editor of GQ, was promoted to editor-in-chief, replacing
longtime GQ editor and magazine veteran Art Cooper. Nelson has
vowed not to Maxim-ize the monthly men's magazine.
