Poor Burger King. Who knew that Pokemon, the cute and popular "pocket monster," would leave a legacy more akin to Chuckie's in the wake of the holiday season.
First the fast food chain suffered the wrath of angry parents and exasperated employees when a December Pokemon shortage left hoards of BK Kids' Meals devoid of the popular toys (PRN, Dec. 13). Last week, Burger King was back in the game with a new supply of Kids' Meal fodder, only to be forced into issuing a safety recall after a 13-month-old girl died of suffocation when one of the prizes became lodged in her throat.
