Chevron Seeks Staffer

Anderson Speaks in D.C.

Well-known syndicated columnist Jack Anderson will kick off the fall 1996 luncheon speaker series of Washington (D.C.) Independent Writers (WIW) with a presentation on Oct. 10. Internal Communications Seminar

The Employee Communications section of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is holding a two-day seminar in Chicago next month. The Oct. 4-5 session will cover audience analysis, approaches to reach employees, adding value to the corporation through internal communication, and strategic planning for employee communication. Book Publicists' Pay

A survey of 22 New York-based book publishers revealed that the average fiction publicist had been in the job two to four years, and earned between $18,000 and $36,000. Publicists with more than five years of experience earned an average of $45,000. The survey was conducted by Turtle Publishing, New York, which contacted 60 publicists, of which 23 responded. Hispanic Media Service

A new company is offering clipping and analysis services for Hispanic print media. Latin Reports Ltd., New York, clips both Spanish-language and English-language publications reaching the Hispanic market in the United States and Puerto Rico. The company also provides reporting services that correlate clips with circulation and market demographic information. Latin Reports also offers advertisement tracking servies. Honors:

The Institute for PR Research and Education (IPRR&E) awarded the "1996 Pathfinder Award" to Glen Cameron, a professor at the College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia, Athens. The award recognizes Cameron's research on public relations management, publicity effectiveness and electronic media. IPRR&E is based at the University of Florida, Gainesville.
