Macro Media Trends

The latest global media analysis conducted by the research firm CARMA International reveals that product/service innovations, mergers, joint ventures and financial performance
are among the hottest topics in the worldwide press, while issues surrounding the environment, corporate citizenship and advertising have faded from the radar screen. According to
the firm's Global Media Analysis Report Card, Microsoft has received the most overall coverage in recent months (both positive and negative in equal amounts), while Cisco ranks
highest in positive coverage, due to a slew of successful acquisitions, and healthy stock performance. Coke has the dubious distinction of generating the lowest favorability
rating in light of recent job cuts, management changes and last summer's Euro product contamination crisis.

The CARMA study, conducted in partnership with Best Practices in Corporate Communications, tapped more than 3,200 articles and tracked 50 leading corporate brands. For more
