Keeping A Pulse On Crises

PR professionals will likely be meeting crisis management issues head-on this year - and going into the next century. But part of what will make your crisis planning run smoother is reaching consensus at all levels of the company about what crises could erupt and what's the best way of mitigating perception/reputation damage. Here's what a majority of execs at 100 major U.S. corporations said about their crisis planning:

  • 50 percent of companies hold situation or issues simulation training as part of their crisis/issues management activities;
  • Crisis simulation was ranked as the most effective facet of a crisis program, followed by senior management training and the formation of a crisis response team.
