Boo. With luck, this week's relaunch of the fashion portal Boo.com won't be as scary as its first go-round. (After four postponements, the site crawled into existence
in November 1999, but by May 2000 was pronounced dead when its founders declared bankruptcy.) New owner FashionMall.com now plans to breathe life back into the URL via content
partnerships with fashion and style books such as Nylon and FashionWear Daily, the music magazine Revolution, and the New York art magazine Smock, among others. The site's
community feel stems from chat rooms, message boards and rotating reviews of hand-picked fashion staples and accessories (categories include "walk, wear, adorn, care, give and
play"). Watch for original fashion and style content too, courtesy of at-large "style scouts" who will be on the lookout for cool costumes - er, cool outfits that is - around the
globe. Target audience: 18- to 30-year-olds. (FashionMall.com, 212/891-6064)

More Frightening. As if the torture of the sitcom "Full House" wasn't enough punishment, the Olsen twins, now 14, are launching a bimonthly magazine to mark their
transition from perky cuteness into awkward pubescence. Brought to you by H&S Media - publisher of TeenStyle - Mary-Kate and Ashley will target "tween" girls (ages 9-13) with
tips on fashion, beauty, school, friendships, self-esteem and other topics. (H&S Media, 800/210-0334)

Digital Decide. Expedia Travels, the offline offspring of Expedia.com and Ziff Davis Media (PRN, April 24), hits newsstands this week. The title promises to function
as a roadmap for busy, affluent readers wishing to tap the Web as a tool for finding better vacation deals and destinations. Gary Walther is editor-in-chief, and Rosemary Ellis is
executive editor. The book debuts as a bimonthly with plans to go monthly by next fall. (Ziff Davis, 212/503-3500)

New Features

Publishing: A Science. Watch for a new section, "Science," in the latest Red Herring, which goes bieweekly this week.

The section is staffed by science editor Philip Ross and senior writers Thomas Maeder and Glenn Zorpette. According to Maeder, the new section "is intended to cover new and
emerging science and technologies that may or may not have practical applications in the near future, but familiarity with which we feel is important to an educated and well-
rounded reader." Email thomas. [email protected] or [email protected].
