2015 Rising PR Stars: Ken Bruno, Account Director, Access Communications

Ken Bruno, an account director with Access Communications (a Ketchum global company), has an innate ability to master and communicate a broad variety of complex B2B topics to trade and business media.

For the last two years, he has been one of the primary U.S. media drivers for EMC’s annual trade show EMC World and is the lead on U.S. PR efforts for the company’s products division. Bruno leads a team that not only lands coverage for EMC in key tech/trade outlets like eWeek and ZDNet, but most recently in outlets like Mashable for the company’s work with the iconic band U2 and Forbes, which explored EMC’s unique global innovation network.

Every year, thousands of attendees from all over the globe converge on Las Vegas for EMC World, the company’s global trade show. At that event, EMC typically unveils its newest storage products and makes other huge announcements. At EMC World 2014-15, Bruno was responsible for managing U.S. media onsite and for ensuring coverage of the show in EMC’s key media outlets.

This year, EMC launched a monumental global thought leadership campaign called Information Generation, which explores the business and societal impact of data on our world. Bruno was an integral member of the media relations team for the campaign, which kicked off with well-attended media dinners in Boston and San Francisco. Attendees at dinners spanned outlets like Forbes, Fortune, Fast Company and Harvard Business Review.
