2014 Rising PR Stars: Kim Morton

Kim Morton, Senior Manager, Media Relations, Hiring Our Heros, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation

Kim Morton joined the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Hiring Our Heroes program as an intern in the fall of 2012 and is now the program's senior manager of media relations. In her current role, Kim develops comprehensive media relations strategies to secure national and local media coverage at hundreds of hiring fairs nationwide, which has results in thousands of print, broadcast, and online stories.

Kim is a highly skilled writer and has drafted speeches, op-eds, reports, and blog posts that consistently deliver the Hiring Our Heroes message in a compelling and thought-provoking manner. And what better validation of writing ability than being selected as the ghost writer for Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. Dakota Meyer’s blog on the the Huffington Post. She has also been responsible for managing press at events like the Fort Campbell Veteran's Job Summit, where remarks were made by First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden. Even though the event took place an hour outside of the closest media market, Kim secured coverage from over twenty outlets resulting in spots in multiple local and national outlets.
