To-Do List

Research conducted by Corporate Communication Studies found the most critical issues facing communications managers in Fortune 500 companies are:

  • Integrating the communications function in the global corporation.
  • Quantifying communications results in business terms.
  • Training and developing a world-class corporate communications team, including outsourced talent.
  • Developing a communications plan that is aligned with corporate priorities.

The issue of "proving the value of the communications function" came in at number six. The study suggests that communications departments once struggling for acceptance and
legitimacy may have overcome this hurdle.
