Say What?

When you see a man in a wheelchair, don't you just wanna pat him on the head as though he has the IQ of a third-grader? This week's unofficial award for most patronizing (and
did we mention not newsworthy) press release goes to HJMT Communications in Lido Beach, N.Y.:

Local PR Woman Talks to People with Disabilities About How She Got Started in PR.

On October 13, HJMT Communications [president] Hilary JM Topper...spoke to the South Shore Services for the Handicapped...which consisted of adults ages 25-50 who have physical
disabilities. Ms. Topper talked candidly about her experiences in the public relations field. She also talked about why and how she launched HMJT Communications, LLC, nearly 10
years ago.

"As a local businesswoman, I feel it is important to take time away from the day to give back to the community," said Ms. Topper. "The participants asked solid questions about
topics such as 'spin control,' crisis management, etc. It was certainly a thought-provoking seminar."

Wow, how surprising! We figured if audience members' legs didn't work, their heads must not either. No doubt they were grateful to Ms. Topper for fulfilling her civic duty.
We wonder what she brought for show and tell.
