Today marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Every conceivable aspect of Kennedy’s life and horrific death is being remembered this week.  We recall JFK as a great communicator, who knew that to lead was to inspire. So we cherry picked a few of his quotes that we thought would have particular resonance for PR pros.

“Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.”

“Those who dare to fail miserably can achieve greatly.”

“Things do not happen. Things are made to happen.”

“Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction.”

“Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth.”

“The goal of education is the advancement of knowledge and the dissemination of truth.”

“Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate.”

“The time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining.”

“The human mind is our fundamental resource.”

“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie, deliberate, contrived and dishonest, but the myth, persistent, persuasive and unrealistic.”
