[PR] Code of Ethics

The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication,
which represents 100,000 PR pros, says its members recently
unanimously agreed to standardize a code of ethics for their
profession by the end of 2005. The protocol prescribes minimum
elements for codes of ethics worldwide; national organizations may
add to the clauses if they deem so. The proposal, which can be
viewed at http://www.globalpr.org, states the
profession accepts "duties to a broader society than merely one's
clients and employers," and bases its principles on "the
fundamental value and dignity of the individual." CONTACT: [email protected]
