PR NEWS and its sister publication, min's New Media Report, received the following rebuff in response to last week's description of the newly launched SportsGeek
Magazine.com, a Web site targeting high-brow sports enthusiasts:

"Onion readers, despite being exceptionally discerning consumers of high culture, are quite capable of enjoying regular displays of those bread & circus events we call
'sports.' Your insinuation that the combined readership of Salon, Onion, and The New Yorker might produce 10 sports fans is absurd...for The Onion alone would yield at least 10!
Frankly, I expected more from a publication such as yours."
