Jockey for new slot at Forbes

The April 1 issue of Forbes (April 19 cover date) will include
the new Forbes 2000 list, replacing the Forbes 500, which is being
retired after 35 years. The Forbes 2000 list is in response to what
Forbes describes as a "borderless" economy; Forbes editors feel
that with the expanding global economy there is no longer any such
thing as a "U.S. company" anymore, making the Forbes 500 - catering
to U.S. firms - irrelevant. The Forbes 2000, with an
entrepreneurial spirit, welcomes pitches from corporate
communications officers who think their company can make the
cut.
