New Frontier. Just when we thought there was no more prime real estate left to conquer...NewColonist.com proclaims its official launch this week, and we're guessing the
patriotic timing is no coincidence. The site targets upper-income urban dwellers who are as interested in city council policy wars (surrounding transportation, neighborhood
development, etc.) as they are keen on lifestyle issues unique to city living. Hot feature topics include city pet ownership, raising kids in the city, gardening in close spaces,
riding public transit, living with less storage space, etc. Content will be updated monthly, and each cycle will include a profile of a particular U.S. city. (July's featured
town is San Francisco). Editor/Publisher Eric Miller can be reached at [email protected].

Online Oxymoron? SportsGeekMagazine. com hasn't even worked up a sweat yet, but the new site is hoping to score points with high-brow sports enthusiasts, promising
coverage for the Salon, Onion and New Yorker sports fan set (all 10 of them?). Post-feminist looks at figure skating and a review of the tattoo phenomenon among athletes
are among the early features on the site, which launched two weeks ago. Contact Jamie Berger at 415/864-6907.

Down Home. Nothing to do on weekdays at 10:30 a.m.? You won't want to miss the return of "Cookin' Cheap," a recipe show-and-tell brought to you by GoodLife TV. The show,
which targets boomers and seniors, has been resurrected after a 22-month hiatus. Co-hosts Larry Bly and Doug Patterson's tastes are simple: "Food that uses everyday ingredients,
rather than prissy, hard-to-understand recipes." The show is looking for dish about cooking trends and foods' ethnic origins, but skip the product pitches. They're not on the
menu. GoodLife TV serves 9.7 million U.S. subscribers via satellite program packages such as HBO Direct and Turnervision. Email [email protected] or snail mail WBRA TV, P.O. Box 13246, Roanoke, VA 24032.
