Companies Scramble in Wake of Tragedy …

Companies nationwide put their crisis plans to the test in the
wake of the space shuttle Columbia tragedy. In order to avoid
serious negative PR repercussions, Hewlett-Packard pulled
advertising touting the role of its equipment in getting U.S.
astronauts home safely. TV networks screened programming for any
potentially offensive material, and FX in particular canceled a
planned showing of the movie "Armageddon," depicting an outer-space
disaster.
