CDC Data Enhances Market Segmentation Tool

While lifestyle segmentation and health status profiling isn't rocket science it can be hit or miss.

Inforum, a market research software firm, has recently linked with the CDC to provide expanded resources for healthcare planners to identify populations at risk for chronic and
acute health conditions.

The CDC's Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System data is based on a series of consumer surveys that examines county- and state-level trends of high cholesterol, alcohol
consumption, tobacco use, exercise and nutrition. It is combined with Inforum's proprietary consumer healthcare utilization data and lifestyle segmentation information. The
integrated profiling information allows healthcare marketers to:

  • better estimate the need for future health services:
  • develop targeted chronic disease education programs; and
  • increase the number of breast and cervical cancer screenings in a specific health risk category.

The cost of the application depends on the licensing parameters of the healthcare organization.
