Top Women in PR: Sharron Silvers

Sharron Silvers, Senior Director, Burson-Marsteller

Between overseeing multiple client teams, managing new business opportunities and mothering three children, Sharron Silvers embodies who the Top Women in PR should strive to be.

As the go-to media expert for the entire Burson-Marsteller network, Silvers consistently secures top media placements for her clients in top-tier media, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, FORTUNE, Forbes and CNBC’s Squawk Box. But it’s not just Silvers’ stellar media placements that make her the PR professional she is—it’s her strategic foresight into client needs and successful program execution that push her to the top.

As the go-to source for multiple members of the media, Silvers’ reach extends much further than her day-to-day client work at Burson-Marsteller. She is frequently contacted by reporters and editors not only for her rolodex of clients to provide expert commentary, but also for her respected opinion on story development. Clients and journalists alike actively reach out to Silvers, knowing her expertise in the field as well as her drive for unmatched success and results.

When innovative pharmaceutical company Axovant went public this summer, Silvers made it happen with a bang. The Burson-Marsteller team had less than two weeks to prepare for Axovant’s IPO launch, which was one of the largest biotech IPOs of 2015. The team worked night and day to plan all aspects of the IPO, including internal and external communication, media relations and planning for the client’s presence at the NYSE.

Leading the media relations and all communications efforts, Silvers successfully secured multiple media placements, including Jim Cramer’s “Mad Money” on CNBC, Forbes, Investor’s Business Daily, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. Silvers also received recognition in O’Dwyer’s for the counsel she provided to the client.
