Winner: Tim Haran, Director of Social Media, USANA Health Sciences
The vast majority of Tim Haran’s social media content isn’t assigned, and two-thirds are the direct result of his enterprising nature. Haran has helped build and develop a network of more than a dozen writers who contribute regularly to What’s Up, USANA (USANA’s corporate driven blog).
And, in the past 12 months, Haran’s efforts have helped the company receive more than 520,000 visits and 900,000 page views to What’s Up, USANA—a 16% increase over the previous year's visits and a 7% increase over the prior year's page views, signifying that the site is a must-visit for USANA distributors interested in reading the latest news about the company. In terms of USANA’s International Convention, considered to be the company’s most important week of the year, the key Facebook “talking about this” metric topped 10,500, a 121% jump over the previous year.
Haran also has an excellent understanding of what will capture the eye of his audience, and he searches constantly for human-interest stories that showcase USANA. In the last year he’s published 497 blog posts highlighting achievements of USANA customers and sponsored athletes, in addition to finding new ways to present existing information about products.
As an industry pioneer in the field of social media, USANA continues to offer cutting-edge content for its followers. Haran understands the trends that pop-up on social media sites and tries to capitalize off those items in a way that encourages USANA Associates to interact with the brand. He also makes sure that video components play a big role in USANA’s social media strategy and continues to produce content that is fun, informative, and sharable through live streams, Vines and Snapchat.
