2016 PR People Awards: Intern of the Year

Winner: Jazmin Beltran, Cognito

Jazmin Beltran joined Cognito as an intern in the spring of 2016. Previously she planned events for her on-campus organization, Eller Hispanic Honorary, in order to promote diversity and recognition for Hispanic culture and traditions on campus at the University of Arizona.

Beltran's efforts included integrated marketing to promote events before, during, and after they were held by engaging attendees and sharing updates on social media. She also led her school’s National Student Advertising Competition team, which placed second in their regional competition, by developing a 2017 integrated marketing campaign for Snapple to increase trademark volume. The plan included a set of short commercials, a media schedule, guerilla events marketing tactics, a budget and rollout timeline.

During Beltran's time at Cognito, she has made considerable strides in client management and PR achievements by securing multiple pieces of coverage and learning how to draft informative press releases. She has also been instrumental in preparing content for the agency's own marketing initiatives.
