The Association for Education in Journalism and Mass
Communication (AEJMC) elected Stephen Lacy as its 1996-97 president-
elect. Lacy is a full professor at the school of journalism at
Michigan State University, East Lansing. His research interests
include media economics and management and the history of newspapers.
He will take office as president in October, 1997, when the term of
Alex Tan of Washington State University expires.
AEJMC is the accrediting organization for journalism, public
