Dragonette Dies at 63

Joseph Dragonette, founder and chairman of the Chicago-based firm GCI Dragonette, died Feb. 18 from complications related to multiple sclerosis. During his 35-year career,
Dragonette set notable milestones such as securing U.S. landing rights for the Concord at Washington Dulles Airport and pushing for passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
He also served as a member of the President's Council on Employment of People with Disabilities.

Over the years, Dragonette introduced a bevy of new products that found their way into the American vernacular, including Sara Lee frozen baked goods, 3M's overhead projector
and Baxter's portable kidney machine. He served 20 years with Edelman before forming his own firm in 1983.
