Top Women in PR: Esther Amba Numaba Cobbah

Esther Amba Numaba Cobbah, Chief Executive Officer, Strategic Communications Africa Limited

Esther has been described as the face of corporate communications in Ghana. She was recognized as the Public Relations Personality of the Year 2013 by the Institute of Public Relations in Ghana and Marketing Woman of the Year in 2013 by the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Esther has consulted for over 150 clients, comprising private and public organizations, locally and internationally.

Since the Ghana Garden and Flower Show’s inception in 2013, the goal has been to create awareness about the environmental, commercial, health and aesthetic benefits of gardening. Due to the fact that gardening and flower cultivation are not widely practiced in Ghana, innovative communication techniques were employed in order to attract the attention and participation of the general public. The implementation of these techniques has resulted in immense public interest in the show, leading to heavy media coverage on the show’s activities and message. The event was attended and supported by the second lady of Ghana, Ministers, the Ambassador of Denmark and the past Kenyan Minister of Agriculture, who flew to Ghana to attend the event, as well as an award-winning horticulturalist, Doctor Juliette Tuakli. The event had over 8000 members of the public attending and interacting with exhibitors.
