Delaware North Companies
Delaware North Companies is a 100-year old family company. The family-culture permeates everything they do. Given the fact that the company operates in some of the world's most special places—sports venues; national parks; attractions; travel destinations; gaming and entertainment venues—the culture is one revolving around service and fun.
While Delaware North Companies is a global company; they still have a family-owned mindset. The public relations and corporate communications team members literally travel the world on some amazing adventures. From the Great Barrier Reef to the Super Bowl, the communications team is on the front lines of fun and excitement while completing important assignments whether it's taking a reporter on a climb up Half Dome or placing a chef on a Food Network show, it's all in a day's work for the communications and public relations professionals at Delaware North.
Delaware North’s Career Path program is based on the premise that as the company grows , so do those who help to achieve their goals. As such, the corporate communications and public relations team members have outstanding prospects for growth at all levels of the organization at both the global headquarters as well as in the field. And while experience is certainly important in the more senior-level roles, the internship program has proven to be one of the most successful in the company, if not the industry.
In the last few years, numerous members of the company's corporate communications intern brigade have been hired into full-time public relations roles within the company. Four current members of the corporate communications team at the company's global headquarters began as interns, including one who was plucked from a bartender position in one of the company's hospitality operations. Currently this individual leads the company's internal associate communications and social media efforts.
