- Today the SEC's Regulation Fair Disclosure goes into effect, requiring corporations
to provide market-sensitive information to the public at the same time it
is given to financial analysts (PRN, Aug. 28, Sept. 11). The SEC turned
down a request by the National Investor Relations Institute to delay implementation
until Dec. 29.
- Measurement guru Bruce Jeffries-Fox (formerly with AT&T) joins Burrelle's
Info Services and VMS to found Insight Farm, a communications research and
consulting firm.
- St. Bonaventure presents the Thomas Mosser Award for achievements in mass
communications to John Graham, chairman and CEO of Fleishman-Hillard. The
award comes six weeks after Graham was named to the Arthur W. Page Society
Hall of Fame.
