When starting a business, there are vital decisions that must be made – with none more important than what core focuses will lie at its soul. RF|Binder recognizes the role businesses can and should have in creating a better world.

Its view has been that companies can build better brand equity and loyalty from consumers and clients by giving back; that they can positively affect their bottom lines while doing beneficial community-facing work locally and across the globe. The company firmly believe what it does today has significant impact on the future, and that Corporate Social Responsibility must be a vital part of any organization.

In total, RF|Binder generates about 10% of its total client fees from CSR programs. Its CSR-associated work has more than doubled over the last four years as a result of an increasing focus and a reputation for results in the space.

Through the A Billion + Change Pledge Company, RF|Binder has made a pledge to share its PR and marketing communications expertise with non-profit companies. Over eighteen months, RF|Binder has provided nearly 1,000 man-hours worth of pro-bono work, an investment comparable to more than $220,000 in billing fees.

Outside of pro-bono account work, RF|Binder gave more than $42,000 in total charitable donations to institutions including the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, the Institute for PR at the University of Florida, and Columbia Business School, among others.

The company encourages its employees to spearhead and participate in regular company-wide donation drives. Recent initiatives include Operation Backpack, providing children in NYC homeless or domestic violence shelters with new backpacks filled with school supplies; a Winter Coat Drive in partnership with NY Cares; and Suds of Love, an initiative that collects unused beauty and hygiene products for local shelters.
