2016 Top Places to Work in PR: SAP Asia Pacific Japan

The SAP Asia Pacific Japan Corporate Affairs (APJ CA) team believes that every member of the team has unique potential that can be tapped with the right developmental support. The APJ CA team receives access to career and personal developmental programs like the SAP Social Sabbatical and Leadership Excellence Acceleration Program (LEAP).

SAP Social Sabbatical is a structured one-month program for high-potential candidates. This program provides the opportunity for employees to take a paid sabbatical and work closely with nonprofit organizations to address intricate business problems. LEAP is a 12-month virtual leadership development journey focused on women who have the potential and desire to rise into management positions.

At SAP, internal promotions and transfers are strongly encouraged. This internal mobility is evident in the APJ GCA team – 24 percent of team members have experienced internal transfers from regional to country corporate affairs roles (and vice versa) as well as transfers to other lines of business outside of the APJ CA team.

The team also has quite a bit of generational and cultural diversity. The APJ CA team spans three generations – Generation X, Generation Y and Baby Boomers. The youngest member of the team is a millennial (27 years old) and the oldest is in her fifties.

The team is represented by more than six races and ethnicities. Members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community are also welcomed and embraced on the APJ CA team.
