2016 PR People Awards: Volunteer of the Year

Winner: Laurie Archbold, Founder, Encore Public Relations|Red Couch Stories

Laurie Archbold approaches every opportunity the same way, whether it be a pro bono project, nonprofit or Fortune 100 client. This has been her credo for over 23 years, and it’s resulted in tremendous opportunities and lifelong friendships.

Archbold shares industry research, trends and ideas with clients and non-clients alike. She meets with students and professionals, sharing knowledge and inspiration. She serves on two nonprofit boards and provides counsel and tactical marketing execution. And she has been a steward of the story for more than $100 million in capital campaigns and worthwhile causes.

Archbold serves on the board of directors for Sing Out Loud, a choral organization that helps girls and young women find their voice, courage and sense of belonging through the power of song.

Archbold has led the strategic communication, marketing and public relations efforts for three years in an effort to raise awareness, as well as build interest and support. Key messages have been developed that have yielded positive, broad and consistent story placement, and over the last three years, the organization has achieved over 600,000 earned media impressions.

Archbold also spearheads the development and execution of refreshing the website that has resulted in over 4,495 visits and 8,823 page views reaching an estimated audience of 3,500. She also produced a short film that lives on the website and was shared through Facebook, reaching 8,688 people; it was shared 41 times and garnered hundreds of likes.
