Northern Virginia Family Services presents the Companies As Responsive Employers Awards each year to employers in Northern Virginia who demonstrate leadership in creating family-friendly environments for their employees. Consumer Electronics Association has been a recipient of this award for the past five years. CEA also partners with Arlington Transportation Partners as a Champion of how transportation programs serve and enhance work in the greater Arlington area.
Consumer Electronics Association offers its employees enticing benefits to reduce their environmental footprint. The company offers employees who carpool discounted rates in their parking garage, a safe storage space for individuals who ride their bikes to work, and up to 120 dollars of a monthly Metro subsidy for employees who utilize public transit.
Employees at CEA are encouraged to participate in volunteer efforts both during and outside of work hours. Every year, CEA’s summer interns create and fulfill a community service event that varies from year to year. One year CEA’s interns collected school supplies to donate to Northern Virginia Family Service to help families in need. Another class of interns conducted a silent auction and donated the proceeds to the Arlington Free Clinic, which helps provide medical care to low-income Arlington adults. The auction generated $1,100, which CEA matched.
