Winner: inVentiv Health - inFuse: A Global Town Square for a Company in Transition
By the spring of 2013, three years after the acquisition of inVentiv Health by a group of private equity partners, inVentiv Health had run into a wall.
The trouble was, employees couldn’t even find each other, much less collaborate. The Company’s IT infrastructure was in the midst of massive modernization. Executive management had no way to consistently communicate with global employees; and employees had no means of identifying colleagues in the various businesses, finding specific expertise or working together. Internal communications had become a primary obstacle to inVentiv Health’s performance, growth and value creation – and fixing it was a strategic communications imperative.
inVentiv's new Corporate Communications team of three people, plus a part-time IT specialist, set to work just after Labor Day 2013. Within four months, they had built a fully functional, social intranet with a rich People Finder directory and broad resources. Launched in January 2014 with an enterprise-wide promotional campaign and videos, inFuse had 90% usage across the company within two months and has transformed the way employees work.
In fact, employees can now access the site in multiple languages from anywhere and on any device; find colleagues, contact info, and expertise enterprise-wide; access HR benefits, timesheets, sites for booking travel, marketing materials and more – all in one place, anytime of day; receive instantaneous communications from the management team; and become part of a common inVentiv Health culture.
User visits per month have grown from 1,350 to 9,658, an increase of 1,780%; 91% of all inVentiv Health employees visited inFuse within two months and 8 out of 10 returned. In addition, employees average 5 pages viewed per visit, spending an average of 6:30 each time.
